With 40 mph winds and the odd sprinkling of rain on the Saturday and glorious sunshine on the Sunday the players in the Dumfries and Galloway Confined Tennis Championship managed to “serve” up some good tennis. Local coach Mike McMillin rolled back the years to overcome the youngsters to win the consolation event as he beat Chad Lawson in the final. The main event saw four times champion Colin Dunbar take on 16 years old Alex Shearman but on this occasion the wise head just outplayed his younger opponent taking the match 6-3 & 6-2.
In the doubles on the Sunday the losing finalists of the singles continued with their doubles form that helped them win the 2014 handicap doubles at South of Scotland by edging out the 2013 champions Fraser Patterson and Brian Litster. Chad and Alex taking the match 6-4 & 6-2. In the consolation doubles Colin Dunbar and Ruairidh McRoberts beat Lister and Ben McKiddie 7-6 & 6-1.
