With over 100 matches planned on the first 2 days the officials kept a close eye on the Moffat weather and unfortunately it took a turn for the worst. After 40 plus matches on the Beechgrove Blaes the rain set in after 3pm and quickly the courts became unplayed. The players then up sticks and moved the event to Dumfries for the remainder of Sunday’s play and subsequently Monday as well. Play continued through-out Monday in the damp conditions and possibly for the first time ever matches in the South of Scotland event were played under floodlights at Dumfries. In the late evening Ben Hudson from David Lloyd Tennis Club in Dundee defeated Kyle Hughes-McCabe from Leyland LTC from Lancashire 5-4, 4-1 to take the 10s and under boys title.
