D&G Junior Leagues

Three venues, with 36 players representing 5 clubs at 5 age groups with the hope of completing all these matches on one Saturday afternoon. I was never going to be easy and the weather made sure of that.

Thanks should go to Annan Seaforth, Dalbeattie TC and Dumfries TC for offering their court time and facilities, thanks also to Colin and Tony for overseeing the events on the day and of course thanks to all the kids and parents for giving up their time, without them then this doesn’t happen.

Onto the tennis and congratulations go to all the winners of the completed leagues. 9s and under winners were Stewartry CSC with brother and sister duo of Eamon and Isla McFarlane winning 5 out of the 6 rubbers they played at Annan.

Played at Dalbeattie, the 12s and under went to Annan Seaforth with Flynn Dalgliesh and Danny McKenna also winning 5 out of their 6 rubbers to add this title to their previous 10s triumph from 2017.

16s and under went Moffat with Brandon Smith and Lewis Lindsay securing the title down at Dalbeattie.

Unfortunately the weather caused issues at Dumfries before either the 8s or 10s leagues could be completed with 2 Annan teams at the top of the 8s league and 2 Dumfries teams at the top of the 10s league. Hopefully these can be completed soon.
