The David Keswick Centre in Dumfries hosted the final D&G tennis competition of the year.

We had a great day of play with some excellent tennis from all the 8s and under.

The event had 2 new D&G players talking part, Eamon McFarlane from the Stewartry Community Sports Club & Caitlin Topping from Dumfries Tennis Club. We also had some players playing in only their 2nd or 3rd events, Lucy Scade & Stella Hodgins from Dumfries Tennis Club and Angus McCreary from Eaglesfield.

The format had 2 groups of players with Jack Wearing, Dominik Czopek, Ethan Leyman all Dumfries and Eamon all qualifying for the semi finals with Adam Hunter, Isaac Sharp, Stella Hodgins again all Dumfries being joined by Ava Rimmington from Tyne & Wear in the consolation event.

In the main semi-final draw Jack edged a tight battle against club mate Ethan to win 10-9, whilst Dominik used all his experience to beat Eamon who was playing in his first event 10-4. Ethan claimed third spot by beating Eamon 10-1, then Jack defeated another club mate in Dominik to win 10-3 and claim the win.

In the consolation event Adam and Isaac progressed to the final before Adam secured the victory 10-5.

Great to see all these young players competing.
