Tennis Scotland Leaderboard

Tennis Scotland announces the line-up of events for the 2015 Leaderboard circuit on Monday 19th, with a new event added and the South of Scotland Tennis Championship retaining its place. The Leaderboard circuit was introduced back in 2013 with 9 events but this was reduced to 7 for 2014.

The South of Scotland event, which has been part of the Leaderboard circuit since 2013, enjoyed another successful year in 2014, they paid out over £1,600 in prize money and had over 400 entries competing in the completed 22 events with 340 matches played over the 8 days.

New Event for South of Scotland

The historic South of Scotland Tennis Championship has added a new event for 2015. This year will see the introduction of the Gents 45 plus singles event. This is trial event for 2015 and if successful may result in more new vets events for 2016.

Level 1 Tennis Coaching Course

The details of a level 1 local tennis course are below. Please let anyone know who would be interested .It is the first level coaching award available and only a basic standard of play is required.

The venue is in  LANGHOLM – Feb 14/15 & Mar 15 2015- Eskdale Centre, Thomas Telford Road, Langholm, Dumfriesshire DG13 0AP

It is important that this is promoted as widely as possible to individuals  .

A few  key points:-

  • Candidates MUST be over 16 by the 1st day of the course – no exceptions as this is a legal requirement.
  • We need a minimum of 8 fully paid candidates that have completed the online form a minimum of 7 day before the start to allow this course to run. On the other hand a maximum of 12 people can take part so please book soon.
  • There is a 50% grant available from Sportscotland however this needs to be applied for well before the start of the course – full details are on the online application link above. Sportscotland will not consider any retrospective applications for funding made after the course has started.
