Annan Tennis club hosted the second of the three tours with 19 local kids entered into the boys and girls events. With 14 boys and 5 girls there were a total of 52 matches to get through with a 4 round robin groups and then knock stages after that.

Again there was some great tennis from the kids with players from Annan, Dumfries and Moffat all competing for the medals on the day and the overall title in the leaderboard.

After the boys round robin events we had 6 going forwards to the main quarter finals and 8 going into the consolation event. The 2 quarter finals results were Harry Brown against the Dumfries winner Oliver McKnight with Harry taking the hard fought match 10-6, in the other Q-final Devon Jones won the battle of the Annan boys as he beat Thomas McCleary 10-5. Again in the semi finals we had 2 Moffat boys and 2 Annan boys competing again each other for a place in the final. In the first semi Daniel McKenna bt Devon Jones 10-2 and in the 2nd Harry Brown edge a tight match against Finlay Walton 12-10. In the final Daniel bt Harry 10-3 to claim his first Tour title and send him to the top of the leaderboard. In the third and fourth play-off Devon took the spoils with a 10-8 win over Finlay and in the Consolation final it was two Dumfries boys as Logan McCluskey went one better than in Dumfries as he beat Rhys Edwards 10-4. This leaves Daniel top of the leaderboard on 165, Oliver slips to second on 135 with Harry up to Third on 110.

All the kids played 7 matches between the indoor courts and the outdoor courts at Chatsworth Tennis Club in Carlisle. There was some great tennis on the day from all the kids and despite some kids not getting the results they wanted all kids showed some good early season form as they returned from the winter break. The top five places were secured by D&G kids with Fergus Reynolds-Lewis (Dumfries) edging a tight match against Daniel McKenna (Annan) 10-7. The 3rd and 4th place play-off was between Moffat duo of Ben Rogerson and Rose Brown with Ben just holding off Rose 10-9. In fifth place was Flynn Dalgliesh from Annan who played some of the most consistence tennis all day. The final two boys, Jacob and Kyle should be very happy with their days play also, they played some very good tennis in patches and will now look to gain more experience in the upcoming months. Many thanks to all the parents for their time and big thanks to Tracey Burrus for running a great event.
